Teach your child their first words — in your own voice.
Most learning apps teach your child in a stranger's voice. Targu Kids uses yours — you record the words and add photos for the games. Twelve games that carry them from their very first word all the way to Sudoku.

Why it's different
Your child doesn't need another stranger's voice
Every other flashcard app shows the same stock illustrations and plays the same recorded accent to millions of children. Targu Kids learns from your family & pictures instead.
Say it yourself
Record mum, dad or grandma saying any word. Children pay closer attention to a voice they love — and they hear the accent your family actually speaks with.
Use your real world
Photograph the actual dog, the actual spoon, the actual grandparents. Recognition comes faster when the picture is something your child has already held or seen.
Any language you speak
The app speaks English and Estonian — but a recording can be in any language on earth. Perfect for bilingual homes and heritage languages no app supports.
New in version 2.0
Twelve games. From first words to Sudoku.
Version 2.0 turned Targu Kids from a word game into a whole early-learning shelf. Every game plays from the same packs of cards — the built-in ones, and the ones you photograph and record yourself.
Words
Hear it. Spot it. Spell it.
Listen
Hear the word and tap the right picture. Where every child starts.
Read
Three spellings, one picture — spot the right one. The first step into reading.
Write
Type what they hear, letter by letter. An external iPad keyboard works too.
Think
Memory, logic and focus.
Match
The classic pairs game, from four cards up to twenty-four. Against the clock.
Puzzle
Turn the pieces until the picture comes back together. Timed, with a mistake counter.
Sort
Drag each card into the right box — two to four at a time. Categories, made from card packs.
Math
From counting to Sudoku.
Count
How many are on screen? Numbers attached to real things.
Compare
Less, more or equal — the idea behind every math lesson.
Sizes
Biggest or smallest? Comparing, without a single number.
Calculate
Add and take away, with pictures to count instead of abstract digits.
Multiply
Multiplication, built up from cards your child already knows.
Sudoku
The real rules, played with pictures instead of numbers. No reading needed.
Every game plays from any pack — pick one, or mix several together in a single round.
More games are on the way — and every one we add is included, at no extra cost, for anyone subscribed.
It grows with them
Easy today. Hard in a year.
Most games have Easy, Medium or Hard modes built in, so the same app that shows a three-year-old four big pictures is still a challenge when they're seven.
4 to 24 cards
Start with four large cards and work up to a twenty-four card board. You set the round length too — ten cards, twenty, or the whole pack.
Timer and streaks
Thinking games run against a clock and count mistakes. Scores and streaks appear at round end—just for you to see your results.
Real keyboard ready
The Write game takes an external iPad keyboard, so a child practising letters gets the real thing rather than a toy one.
Who it's for
Built for the families other apps forget
Grandparents far away
Record a set of cards before you say goodbye, and your grandchild keeps hearing you every day — even from another country, even without internet.
Bilingual & heritage homes
No app sells flashcards in your mother tongue. Record them yourself in an afternoon and your child learns the words nobody else will teach them.
Speech & language practice
Therapists and parents can build a card pack around the exact sounds a child is working on, and repeat them at whatever pace suits.
Nurseries & teachers
Make a card pack of the children's own faces, the classroom objects, this week's topic — and let the group play it together on a shared iPad.
How it works
Your first game takes about two minutes
Pick a picture
Use a built-in card set, or add a photo from your library or camera.
Say the word
Tap record and speak — in any language you're raising your child in.
Hand it over
They tap, listen and learn — hearing you, every single time.

Questions
Good to know
Do I have to subscribe?
No. The free version is genuinely usable — a 62-card card pack, three games, your own voice on every card, and a custom card pack of your own. Beyond that you can either subscribe to Targu Subscription or buy individual unlocks or Lifetime Access outright. Both routes stay open.
What are the 12 games?
Three families. Words: Listen, Read and Write. Think: Match, Puzzle and Sort. Math: Count, Compare, Sizes, Calculate, Multiply and Sudoku. All of them play from any card pack, including packs you build from your own photos.
I already paid for Birds, Vegetables or Spelling. What now?
You keep them, permanently. Version 2.0 added a subscription as an extra option; it did not take anything away from anyone who already bought it. If a purchase ever seems to be missing, tap Restore Purchases in Settings.
How do I cancel the subscription?
In your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Apple handles the whole thing — we never see your payment details, and we can't charge you outside the App Store.
Can we mix the card packs?
Yes — pick one pack or combine several in the same round, and your own packs mix in alongside them. A round of mammals, birds and your child's toys together is a perfectly normal game.
What ages is it for?
It starts at about 2 and keeps going to around 8. The Listen and Count games work for a child who can't read yet; Write, Multiply and Sudoku are still a challenge in early school years. That range is the point — you're not replacing it in eighteen months.
Does it work without internet?
Yes, completely. There's no account and no connection needed to play — which makes it genuinely useful on planes, in cars and in waiting rooms.
What happens to the photos and voice recordings we add?
They stay on your device and nowhere else. Nothing is uploaded, synced or sent to us — there is no server to send them to. See our privacy policy for the full detail.
What languages does it support?
The app itself is in English and Estonian. But because you record the cards yourself, you can teach your child words in any language you speak at home.
